Rosella Chicks – Growing Incredibly Fast

It seems like the these chicks have almost doubled their size in the last four days! The size gap between the biggest and the smallest chicks continue to be about the same, but all are growing.

As yet there doesn’t appear to be any eyes open, however we are starting to see some of the juvenile feathers starting to appear. At the moment it is just discolouration to the original fluffy down, but the change is certainly there.

The other major change is that the chicks, or at least the larger ones, are no longer forming the “huddle” the way they were just a few days ago. The smaller chicks are still keeping close to their larger siblings, but on the whole the chicks are far more spread out.
